What's the difference between Public and Products Liability?

Public Liability Insurance covers…

a member of the public being injured or having damage to their property because of a negligent act and looks after legal fees, costs and expenses.

Products Liability Insurance covers…

the product you manufacture or supply if it causes damage or injury to the user . You don’t have to be the manufacturer, in Australia if you import an item and it causes a problem then you are deemed to be the end manufacturer not the company from China. Products Liability will not cover the product if it was of inferior quality as bad workmanship is generally not covered.
