In a professional insurance career spanning 22 years, Kelly has been involved not just in Insurance Broking but also held technical underwriting and senior management roles with Insurance Companies.

Whilst working with insurers, Kelly has been directly involved in the negotiation and settlement of large claims such as fire and business interruption, as well as technical claims in the areas of Legal Liability and Professional Indemnity. It is this type of hands on experience that delivers a very real understanding of risk management and the structure of insurance policies. This understanding allows for insurance solutions to be tailored to our clients needs, in some cases this involves the drafting and negotiation of specific clauses that have never been used before.

Kelly currently holds and Advanced Diploma of Financial Services.

When Kelly took over as Managing Director, his vision was to develop a culture that was uncompromising with regards to ethics and professional standards, as well as providing an avenue for a true professional career path for local people that is generally only available in major metropolitan areas. Over time this uncompromising stand has seen a change in personnel throughout the organization and resulted in a highly motivated, knowledgeable and energetic team able to meet the highest ethical and professional standards.

Kelly continues to work with individual clients as well as provide continued support and technical advice to the entire Austbrokers Southern team.
