Glass Insurance

If you are a tenant renting your business premises, the majority of leases pass the responsibility for breakage of glass to the tenants.

The definition of glass for insurance purposes includes windows, shower screens, glass in fixed display cabinets toilet and hand basins.  The basis of cover is accidental breakeage (including breakage by vandals)

Glass Insurance is generally issued on a replacement value basis and not a specified sum insured, as building codes continue to change you may need to use different glass in your windows after the breakage than the type of glass originally installed.
