Commercial Marine

Commercial Marine Insurance is used for boats that are used as a business.  This can include fishing trawlers, charter boats, whale watching cruises, house boats, hire boats, just about anything used on water as a business can be insured under a Commercial Marine Policy.

The policy has two sections, the first being for damage to the boat (similar to comprehensive car insurance) and the second being a legal liability cover.

Our focus when looking at commercial marine insurance is on the level of cover in the legal liability section.  All commercial marine policies work the same with regards to the damage section, however there are variations in the level of legal liability cover.

Obviously if you are involved with members of the public on your boat you want to ensure that there is enough cover in case something goes wrong.
